3 Days Bwindi Uganda Gorilla Safari
This will take place in one of the four gorilla groups within Bwindi ImpenetrableNational Park. Bwindi has four habituated families and the gorillas there live in thicker moist tropical forest. These include Habinyanja, Rushegura, Nkuringo and Mubare group. Gorilla tracking in bwindi impenatrable is a challenging activity which may involve you trekking over the steep hillsides in search of these World few remaining forest giants. On this safari, there will not only be gorillas to be viewed but also other animals and bird species. Other primates living in the forest may also be seen as well as birds.
Bwindi can be cold especially in the morning and at night. The annual average temperature range is 7C - 20C with the coldest period being June and July. Warm clothing is required, plus wet weather gear since Bwindi receives up to 2390mm of rain/ year. This is concentrated during two wet seasons, short rains in March-May and heavy rains in September-November. Instead of short tropical deluges, rain in Bwindi often falls as long hours of soft drizzle.
Day 1: Depart for Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Early morning we depart for Bwindi impenetrable forests Home to the rare Mountain gorillas After an eight to ten hours drive through villages, towns, highlands, and grazing lands southwest we get to Bwindi impenetrable forest. The scenic drive take you through the area famed to be theSwitzerland of Africa, with a stop at the equator for photography and an informative talk as well as lunch en route in Mbarara. Overnight at Luxury Gorilla Forest camp /Mid Range Lake Kitandara luxury tents / Buhoma Lodge or basic at Buhoma Community Bandas.
Day 2: Gorilla Tracking
Early morning we have our break fast and after we gather at the Uganda wild life authority Bwindi headquarters for registering, get walking sticks and group up for pre-trek briefing. 8:00 am we start the gorilla trek which takes us between half and hour to up to whole day through a steeply forested landscape which has incredible dense under growth an experience of penetrating the impenetrable.
The experience of tracking and finding these great primates is very, exciting; there are 9 other primate species including chimpanzee, blue monkey, black and white colobus monkey, plus 300 bird species and 200 species of butter flies. Overnight at Luxury Gorilla Forest camp /Mid Range Lake Kitandara luxury tents / Buhoma Lodge or basic at Buhoma Community Bandas.
Day 3: Drive back to Kampala
After breakfast we will drive back to Kampala, arriving in the early evening.
