HOW TO GET THERE
By road, the Nile river crossing at Paraa, in the centre of the park, is approximately 5hrs drive from Kampala (305km). Paraa is 85km from Masindi town by the direct route.
A longer (135km) alternative route passes through Budongo forest and enjoys spectacular views across Lake Albert from the rift valley escarpment above Butiaba. Paraa can also be approached from the north, via Chobe Gate near Karuma Falls and Tangi Gate near Pakwach (25km to Paraa), and Wankwar Gate near Purongo.
A vehicle ferry crosses the Nile at Paraa. This operates hourly between 07.00 and 19.00 with the exception of 13.00. Murchison can also be reached by air. Charter flights can land at airstrips north of the Nile at Pakuba (19kms from Paraa) and south at Bugungu (13kms from Paraa).
Day 1: Depart for Murchison Falls National Park
Depart for Murchison Falls National Park: The biggest national park in Uganda with an area of 3840sqkm.The River Nile divides the park into North and South sectors and forms a fall where it flows over the western rift valley escarpment. Here the river is forced through a seven meter gap in the rocks and cascades into a boiling pot 43 meters below with a thundering roar and a beautiful rainbow.

Day 2: Game drive and Launch Cruise
After an early breakfast game drive in the Northern sector of the park, it is with in this park that the natural beauty of the Nile is perfected. You will come across herds of elephants, giraffes, antelopes, Uganda Kobs, buffaloes, waterbucks, lions, and several bird species also the unusal saddle bill storks. Be back in time for your lunch. In the afternoon take a 3 hour launch cruise to the bottom of the falls you will come across pools of hippos, be meters away from the toothsome crocodiles with jaws wide open, elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, lions, waterbucks, several antelope species, and a lot of birdlife. Overnight at Paraa Safari Lodge/Red Chilli Rest Camp.
Day 3: Drive back to Kampala.
After breakfast we drive back to Kampala arriving in the afternoon.
